MHVI is beneficiary of golf tourney

On July 11, we were contacted by John (last name withheld by request). He and his family sponsor a benefit golf tournament every year to benefit a different charity annually. The tournament was to be held on August 5 and MHVI was selected to be the beneficiary.

He asked if we could provide signage and then show up for the luncheon afterward at his house. We made the arrangements got signage to him for the event and showed up on August 5 to meet the golfers, enjoy an afternoon of fellowship and speak to their group about MHVI’s mission.

On August 9, John stopped by the office to drop off the proceeds from the event: $7,000 raised to help homeless veterans and their families!!! $5000 was from the golfers and the raffle event at the luncheon; $2000 was from the individual sponsors of hole !

Wow! Thanks to all our friends in New Berlin who support John and his family who work hard every year to help deserving causes!

Quentin Hatfield (right), acting executive director of MHVI, accepts a $7000 check from John (last name withheld by request), whose family sponsored the golf outing.

The backyard luncheon gave us a chance to speak to all the golfers, tell MHVI's story and to thank them for their generosity!

Our table featured lots of information on how to spread the word of MHVI's work and how to help in the future.

The luncheon and auction netted a generous $2000.
